When visitors see your site, you want them to be quietly (or not so quietly) impressed. It's important that your site gives the right impression, looks clean and professional, and above all, is easy to navigate for the user. Ideally what you want is to direct the flow of the viewers attention so it naturally draws attention to the main content of your site, the most important stuff, and the others bits fall into place after it. This way people are more likely to experience your content as you intended. To that end, here we will be periodically publishing a series of tutorials on various aspects of web design.
